Peephole to the world

EXIF: Canon EOS 60D, Lens: EF-S15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, Focal length: 15mm, 1/2000 sec, f/5.0, Bias: -1.00, ISO 100

The compass deck, or the monkey island as it’s popularly known on ships, is our peephole to the world. It has various antennas, including radar scanners, letting us peep into the world beyond our horizons as well as near vicinity.

I have underexposed this image by one stop to saturate the sky. I have used this technique a lot when shooting film earlier.

This picture is being submitted as part of a 52 week challenge I am following on Facebook, theme ‘Peephole’.
